The report contains key data from the 2021 survey "Gender-based violence against women and other forms of interpersonal violence", which was commissioned by Eurostat and the Federal Chancellery. It focuses on the prevalence of violence against women, specifically violence experienced by women and violence that disproportionately affects them. The report covers findings on violence in intimate partnerships, outside of intimate partnerships, stalking, sexual harassment in the workplace, and violence in the childhood. In doing so, the data provides results on victims of violence for the first time and are a valuable complement to official police statistics, which only cover cases reported to the police, and crime statistics, which cover only convicted cases.
