Register-based Labour Market Career (ERV)
Aim and use of the project
The aim of this project is to render the employment career of persons statistically evaluable. For example the following questions can be answered:
- Number of terminations of employment and the following activity status
- Which groups of persons manage most frequently to change directly to another employment?
- What are the effects of changes between employments on the income?
- How enduring are commencements of employment and are there any differences between various groups of persons?
Data basis
The Register-based Labour Market Career is conducted by using information from administrative registers. They are processed in a structured way and merged by an anonymous key. At building the labour market career each person is assigned a unique activity status for each day since 2009. To reduce fluctuation some smoothing is applied. The characteristics and definitions are mostly similar to Register-based Labour Market Statistics, but there is no restriction on persons with main residence in Austria. The variety of attributes allows for analyses of various aspects of those careers like stability or typical patterns.
Access to the data
Apart from a STATcube database with main results on changes from one activity status to another between 2010 and 2019 from persons 15 years and above, access to extended STATcube databases can be purchased.
