During the past few years numerous headlines of various media have been referring to the situation of adolescents or (young) adults after completing a formal education. Especially the transition from education to the labour market represents an important chapter in the employment biography. This stage sets a course for the further occupational career: adverse starting conditions at the entry into the labour market are difficult to compensate later on. The initial situation is greatly influenced by the qualifications gained during education, and particularly by the chosen type of school.
Section III of the Federal Ministry of Labour, Family and Youth decided together with the Public Employment Service Austria and with Statistics Austria to establish an education-related employment career monitoring (in short: BibEr). The aim of this project is to render the employment career statistically evaluable of all persons living in Austria after their leaving a formal educational institution. The definitions of FABA and NEET are approximations to the international definitions of Early School Leavers and NEET.
The variety of attributes allows for analyses of various aspects of those careers at the start as well as during their further development on the labour market.
The generated data cubes include administrative data about education and the labour market; they are processed in a structured way and merged by an anonymous key.
