Increasing construction costs for all construction branches in 2019

Vienna, 2020-01-15 – The construction cost index (CCI 2015) for construction of residential buildings, averaged over 2019, reached 108.3 index points, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. This represents an increase of 1.1% over 2018. In comparison, the construction cost index of 2018 increased by 2.9% over 2017. For the month of December 2019, the construction cost index amounted to 108.1 points, an increase of 0.7% in annual comparison.

The index for road construction, averaged over 2019, increased to 108.5 index points (+1.9% in annual comparison), the index for bridge construction changed to 109.0 points (+0.1% over 2018), and the index for sanitary engineering reached 108.0 points (+2.0% in annual comparison).
