Number of deaths remains below the five-year average

Vienna, 2021-03-04 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria, 1 726 people died in Austria in calendar week 7 (from 15 to 21 February 2021). The number of deaths has been decreasing for four weeks and is now 1.9% below the five-year average (2016–2020) for the same calendar week. In the previous calendar week 6, the number of deaths has already been lower than the five-year-average (-2.2%).
