FACTAGE – Expert Workshop on Differential Mortality
Within the international research project FACTAGE (Fairer Active Ageing for Europe) Statistics Austria is responsible, among other things, for methodological developments and analyses in the field of social inequalities in mortality on the basis of sample data. FACTAGE is nationally funded by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in the framework of the Joint Programming Initiative “More Years, Better Lives”. FACTAGE runs from 2016 to 2019. National contributions from Austria, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom are coordinated by the Belgian Centre for European Policy Studies.

Around 20 invited international experts and representatives from Eurostat participate in the workshop. The workshop comprises four half-day sessions, covering methodological issues as well as comparative European demography and political implications.
